The Broadway blockbuster musical Wicked flies into Ottawa from July 11, 2012 through July 29. A vivid reimagining of the classic The Wizard of Oz, the musical spotlights the untold stories of Oz’s most famous characters: the Wicked Witch of the West and her unlikely friend, Glinda the Good. The Grammy-winning score by Stephen Schwartz features the songs “The Wizard and I,” “Popular” and “Defying Gravity.”
Beauty and the Beast will arrive from October 30, 2012 through November 4. Based on Disney's Academy Award-winning animated feature film, this family-friendly musical love story features the songs “Be Our Guest” and “Beauty and the Beast.”
The Tony-winning Billy Elliot follows a young boy as he stumbles out of the boxing ring and into a ballet class, discovering a surprising passion that inspires his family and his whole community. The acclaimed show, with a score penned by music legend Elton John, will run from January 1, 2013 through January 6.
Rock of Ages, the musical packed with the biggest rock hits of the '80s, will play from March 5, 2013 through March 10. Set in 1987 on the Sunset Strip, a small-town girl falls in love with a big-city rocker in one of L.A.’s most famous rock clubs. Their story is told through some of the most awesome hits of the '80s, including “Don’t Stop Believin’,” “We Built This City” and “Wanted Dead Or Alive.”
